Studies

The Institute of Western and Southern Slavic Studies offers two-cycle programs: bachelor’s and master’s.

We offer a choice of six specializations related to the target language:

• Bohemian Studies (Czech language and culture)
• Bulgarian Studies (Bulgarian language and culture)
• Croatian Studies (Croatian language and culture)
• Serbian Studies (Serbian language and culture)
• Slovak Studies (Slovak language and culture)
• Slovenian Studies (Slovenian language and culture)

Every year, we open a specialization in Bohemian Studies. Every two or three years, we announce applications for the specializations: Croatian and Serbian Studies (alternating), Bulgarian Studies, Slovak Studies, and Slovenian Studies.

In the academic year 2026/2027 we also offer the postgraduate (post-diploma) studies Contemporary Balkans: a Socio-Political Perspective (Bałkany współczesne: perspektywa społeczno-polityczna).

Doctoral programs are offered at the University of Warsaw Doctoral Schools.
