Slavic Science Club of the University of Warsaw would like to invite you to International Student Conference “From Taboo to Openness: Sexuality among Western and Southern Slavs” which will be held on the 9th of February 2024 at the Faculty of Polish Studies at the University of Warsaw.
The conference aims to create an interdisciplinary discussion forum meant to help understand sexuality in the context of research. The conference will be open towards multiple historical and modern approaches and its topics won’t be exclusive to one time period. The conference aims to promote openness, respect and diversity in discussion on topics of sexuality within the research sphere of western and southern slavic studies.
The organizers hope to integrate researchers and enthusiasts who wish to expand knowledge in this subject.
Suggested topics for speakers:
● History of sexuality within Slavic area
● Culture and art
● Gender Studies
● Cultural and social aspects of sexuality
● Sexuality in modern cultural contexts
We would like to emphasize that the conference will be stationary. However the conference will be streamed online for those who can’t be physically present.
If you wish to take part in the conference, please submit a form before 17th of January 2024. In case of a large number of applications, the organizers reserve the right to select participants.
The decision about Your qualification will be sent by e-mail by January 22, 2024.
Maximum length of speech: 15 minutes. There will be a discussion held after each panel.
Conference languages are: Polish, Czech, Slovak, Serbo-Croatian, Slovenian, Macedonian, Bulgarian, Upper and Lower Lusatian and English.
